I'm participating in the Silver Lining Ride 2021 to help raise funds for ovarian cancer research. Sadly in 2009 I lost my Aunty and very little was ever spoke about this terrible disease. Every day, 4 women in Australia are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and five year survivability has barely shifted in 30 years. Approximately 1068 Australian women lose their lives to this disease every year. Please donate generously to support research into early detection, and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer.

My Updates

25 Nov 2021

Day 7 and a home town welcome from my mum early in Huntly, a cheer and a wave from my niece & her Grade 3 class & my fab husband & eldest daughter as we rolled into Bendigo. The wind knocked us around today as did the rolling hills after so many flat hills but the rain stayed away. The team welcomed Mark & farewelled Lionel.
Today's kms 125.

Day 5 & a welcomed shorter distance & time as everyone really got their groove and ticked along at a cracking pace looking like a peleton that knows their stuff.
Today we said farewell to Browny after an amazing job from a non-cyclist.

What a team
Day 4, the Sun's out, it heated up and we smashed out another 140km from Echuca to Yarrawonga. Bodies are tired but spirits are high as we all reflect and remember loved ones past.
Thankyou to all my supporter along the way I am truly grateful 🙏

Day 3 Swan Hill to Echuca & the toughest so far with 25-28km cross winds kicking our buts. We has a great game plan though to keep everyone feeling ok. For me I really struggled in the first 90km but got my mojo back in the final 70, arriving into Echuca at 5pm, almost 8hrs in the saddle.
Total Km; 160

Day 2: Another soggy start with a much cooler day but the team did amazing smashing out 45km before our first quick stop & then 90km before lunch. Super quiet back roads kept up away from alot of traffic until just past Nyah West.
Rolled in to Swan Hill feeling great.
Special mention & thanks to the Locals at the Victorian Hotel in Ouyen for their donations last night an awesome $400 & the footy clubs Digger & Spag and the ladies for the yummy BBQ tea.

Day 1 & an awesome send off from the Mildura Bendigo Bank staff with the lions cooking up a storm. A soggy start but high spirits, it didn't take long for us to all get our groove despite the 5 punctures early on. A long day for those newer to distance riding but we all stayed together so well and the Ouyen sign was a welcomed sight.

Bags are packed, count down almost done, tomorrow we embark on the first leg of our adventure, road tripping to Mildura where it will all begin Friday morning.
Thankyou to my sponsor so far and all your extremely generous donations.

Starting my Thursday right with 3 weeks to go & $200 to reach my first target of $5000, your support has been incredible.

Finally a warmer morning and a sunrise like this this morning makes smashing out those k's so much easier. I've had a huge amount of donations over the past week, I can't thank everyone and every local business enough for getting behind me, this will make such a difference to what OCRF are trying to achieve.

18 Oct 2021

With a little over 4 weeks to go until we take off I have been getting some decent K's in the legs so I will be all sorted come the 19th. I thank my sponsors thus far for the generosity.
